기다림
성 경:눅 1:5~13

5 유대 왕 헤롯 때에 아비야 반열에 제사장 한 사람이 있었으니 이름은 사가랴요 그의 아내는 아론의 자손이니 이름은 엘리사벳이라 In the time of Herod king of Judea there was a priest named Zechariah, who belonged to the priestly division of Abijah; his wife Elizabeth was also a descendant of Aaron. 6 이 두 사람이 하나님 앞에 의인이니 주의 모든 계명과 규례대로 흠이 없이 행하더라 Both of them were upright in the sight of God, observing all the Lord's commandments and regulations blamelessly. 7 엘리사벳이 잉태를 못하므로 그들에게 자식이 없고 두 사람의 나이가 많더라 But they had no children, because Elizabeth was barren; and they were both well along in years. 8 마침 사가랴가 그 반열의 차례대로 하나님 앞에서 제사장의 직무를 행할새 Once when Zechariah's division was on duty and he was serving as priest before God, 9 제사장의 전례를 따라 제비를 뽑아 주의 성전에 들어가 분향하고 he was chosen by lot, according to the custom of the priesthood, to go into the temple of the Lord and burn incense. 10 모든 백성은 그 분향하는 시간에 밖에서 기도하더니 And when the time for the burning of incense came, all the assembled worshipers were praying outside. 11 주의 사자가 그에게 나타나 향단 우편에 선지라 Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing at the right side of the altar of incense. 12 사가랴가 보고 놀라며 무서워하니 When Zechariah saw him, he was startled and was gripped with fear. 13 천사가 그에게 이르되 사가랴여 무서워하지 말라 너의 간구함이 들린 지라 네 아내 엘리사벳이 네게 아들을 낳아 주리니 그 이름을 요한이 라 하라 But the angel said to him: "Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to give him the name John. |
성경에 등장하는 신앙에 성공한 사람들은 대부분 하나님을 기다린 기다림에 성공한 사람들입니다. 어쩌면 신앙생활을 깊이 들여다 보면 ‘기다림의 연속’이다고 해도 과언이 아닙니다.
All the people who have succeeded in faith in Bible have succeeded in waiting for God. Maybe, it is no exaggeration to say that it is a “continuation of waiting” if you take a deep look into religious life.
기다림에 성공하는 사람들은 인생에도 성공합니다. 하나님을 기다리고 기도한 것 응답해 주실 것을 믿고 기다리고 언젠가 큰 은혜를 주실 줄 믿고 기다리고 눈앞에 산적한 문제가 산더미지만 언젠가 그 산더미 같은 문제들이 해결될 것을 믿고 기다리는 믿음 귀한 믿음이 아닐까요 ?
People who succed in waiting succeed in life. Isn’t it a precious belief that you trust and wait for God to answer your prayers, trust that somebody you will give you great grace and wait for a mountain high of problems to be solved someday?
다윗은 시편 37편 7~10에 이렇게 고백합니다. 우리 다함께 읽습니다.
David confesses like this in Psalms 37 verses 7 to 10. Let’s read it all together.
7.여호와 앞에 잠잠하고 참고 기다리라 자기 길이 형통하며 악한 꾀를 이 루는 자 때문에 불평하지 말지어다 Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. 8. 분을 그치고 노를 버리며 불평하지 말라 오히려 악을 만들 뿐이라 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret--it leads only to evil. 9 .진실로 악을 행하는 자들은 끊어질 것이나 여호와를 소망하는 자들은 땅을 차지하리로다 For evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land. 10. 잠시 후에는 악인이 없어지리니 네가 그 곳을 자세히 살필지라도 없 으리로다 A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found.

Hallelujah
세상일을 바라보면 분통이 터지고 어떻게 이런 일이 일어날 수 있느냐고 항변할 수 있습니다 그러나 우리는 이 모든 상황에서 잠잠하고 참고 기다려야 합니다. 또한 분도 그쳐야 하고 불평도 말아야 합니다. 이런 것들은 오히려 악을 만드는 것입니다. 그리고 하나님을 기대하고 기다려야 합니다. 할렐루야
When you look at the world, you can get upset and protest how this could happen. But we have to be patient in all these situations. Also, don’t be upset and complain. These things are rather making evil. We have to wait and look forward to God. Hallelujah.
맥스 루케이도 목사님은 기독교 작가 금상을 두 번이나 받은 탁월한 저자입니다. 그의 책 한권에는 한때 자신도 기다리지 못하고 실수한 자기고백을 기록해 놓았는데 적잖은 감동을 주는 내용있습니다.
Pastor Max Lucado is an outstanding author who has won the Gold Prize twice as a Christian writer. In one of his books, he once recorded a self-confession that he made regards to his impatience and it was quite touching.
어느날 맥스 루케이도 목사님은 교회의 직원들과 함께 유명세를 타는 리더십 세미나에 참석합니다. 목사님은 그 세미나를 얼마나 기대했던지 강의실 맨 앞줄에 앉아서 강의를 듣습니다.
One day Max Lucado attends a famous leadership seminar with church members. The pastor sits in the front row of the lecture room and listens to the lecture showing his attitude of expectation of the seminar.
그런데 강의가 시작되면서부터 자꾸만 뒤에서 속삭이는 소리가 들리기 시작합니다. 목사님은 속으로 아니~ 누가 이 귀한 세미나 시간에 떠들까 ? 그럴 것 같으면 차라리 집에서 가만히 계시지 왜 ? 이곳에 와서 다른 사람에게 피해를 줄까? ...라고 생각 하였습니다.
But since the lecture has started, he starts hearing the whispering sound in the background. The pastor thinks, “Who dares to make a noise at this precious seminar? Why don’t they just stay at home if they come and annoy others?”
목사님은 짜증이 났지만 ‘그래 조금만 지켜보자 조금만 있으면 아마 그만 두겠지’ 하고는 기다렸습니다.
The pastor is annoyed but he waits thinking, “Okay, let’s wait and see, they’ll probably quit in a little while.”
그런데 강의가 중반에 접어 들 때까지 그 소리는 도무지 끝날 여력이 보이지 않습니다. 결국 목사님은 참다못해 뒤를 돌아보며 “여기요~~ 아니~!! 시끄러워서 강의를 들을수가 없네요 좀 ~~조용히 해 주세요!! 하고 말 하려는데 강의를 하던 강사가 이렇게 말합니다.
But he couldn’t see the sound coming to an end until the middle of the lecture. At last the pastor cannott help but resist looking back and saying, “Hey, I’m afraid to say that I can’t concentrate on the lecture because it’s too loud. Could you lower your voice?” But then, before he starts to say so, the speaker says,
“아, 참! 여러분 죄송합니다. 강의 전에 제가 먼저 소개했어야 했는데 오늘 소개할 귀한 분들이 계십니다. 그중 한분은 루마니아에서 개척교회를 섬기는 목사님이십니다. 이 집회를 사모해서 여기까지 오셨는데 영어를 몰라 다른 분이 통역을 해주고 계십니다. 잠깐 일어나 주시겠습니까?”
“Oh, by the way, I’m sorry everyone. I should have introduced some precious people before the lecture. One of them is a pastor who serves a pioneering church in Romania. He came all the way here because he longs for this chaple. He does not speak English, however, someone else is interpreting him English. Would you please stand up for a moment?”
여러분 ~ 그 순간 목사님은 깜짝 놀랐습니다. 그 자리에서 일어나는 사람이 바로 좀전에 목사님이 책망을 하려 했든 바로 뒷자석의 그 사람들 이었습니다. 순간 목사님은 정신이 확~~ 들었습니다. 순간을 참지 못하고 뒷자석에 앉은 그분들에게 훈계나 책망을 했다면 적잖은 실수가 되지 않았을까요 ! 기대려야 합니다 기다리는자가 복된줄 믿습니다
Everyone, at this moment the pastor was surprised. They were people in the back seat who stood up just before the pastor tried to reproach. The pastor suddenly came to his senses. Wouldn’t it have been a mistake if he couldn’t bare the moment and admonished the people in the back seat? You have to wait. Blessed are those who wait.

헤롯왕 때 라고 오늘 본문은 시작합니다. 여러분 , 헤롯왕때라는 오늘 본문의 시작은 여러각도에서 생각해 볼수 있습니다. 누가복음을 기록한 기록의 목적에 맞게 잘 짜여질수 있는 대목입니다. 누가 복음을 기록한 기록목적은 누가를 통해 예수님께서 역사적으로 분명하고 확실하게 증명 할수 있는 기반과 기틀을 가진다는 것입니다. 헤롯은 유대의 분봉왕입니다. 그런데 우리는 오늘 본문의 제목인 ‘기다림’과 연관을 지어본다면 또다른 성경의 숨겨진 놀라운 가르침을 발견할수 있습니다.
Today’s text begins with in the time of Herod king. Everyone, this can be thought from many perspectives. It can be well organized for the purpose of recording the Gospel of Luke. The purpose of recording the Gospel of Luke is that through Luke, Jesus has a foundation to prove something historically clearly and surely. Herod is the king of the Judea. But if we relate it to the title of today’s text, ‘Waiting’, we can find another hiddent amazing lesson of the Bible.
기다림과 헤롯왕때를 연관시켜서 생각해 본다면 어떤 숨겨진 놀라운 비밀이 있을까요 ? 우리는 지난시절을 회상하면서 가끔 이러한 말을 사용합니다. 아~~ 그 보릿고개 ... 아이구 지긋지긋한 1.4 후퇴 피난 시절 ...‘
그리고 최근 우리에게 가장 가까이 생각할 수 있는 단어중 한가지가 IMF 금융위기....
If you think about the relationship between waiting and King Herod’s era, what kind of hiddent amazing secret is there? We sometimes use these words as reminisce about the past. “Oh, the Great Famine..Oh my god, I’m so sick of the time of 1.4 retreats..” And one of the closest words we can think of recently is the IMF finacial crisis.
좀더 나가면 코로나 19라고 할수 있습니다. 헤롯왕때 라고 기록한 본문의 서두는 그 당시 헤롯이라는 왕의 폭정이 얼마나 극심했는가 ? 하는 사실을 우리에게 보여줍니다. 그런데 그런 폭정가운데 당시 유대인들의 마음 한구석에는 어떤 소망을 가지고 있었을까요 ?
Moreover, we can think of Covid19. The opening of the text which states that it was during the region of King Herod, shows us how extreme the tyranny of King Herod was at that time. But in the midst of tyranny, what kind of how did the Jews have in their hearts?
메시야 대망사상입니다. 메시야가 오셔서 우리의 모든 고난과 어려움을 해결하고 하나님 나라가 이루어지기를 간절히 바라는 마음의 그들의 마으속 한가운데 자리 하고 있는 것입니다.
They were waiting for Messi to come. Messiah is in the middle of their hearts, eager to come and solve all our hardships and difficulties and achieve the kingdom of God.
특별히 현재 이스라엘은 로마 라고 하는 거대한 국가에 국권을 상실하고 주권을 빼앗긴채로 살아가는 안타까운 현실에 노출되어 있는 상황입니다. 그뿐아닙니다. 오늘 본문이 시작되는 누가복음의 서두가 있기 직전의 성경이 구약성경의 마지막 성경인 말라기서입니다.
Israel, in particular, was exposed to the sad reality of losing its sovereignty and living in a huge country called Rome. It's not just that. The Bible just before the beginning of the Gospel of Luke, which begins today, is the last Bible of the Old Testament, Malagi.
그런데 구약성경 말라기와 신약성경 사복음서가 기록되기까지는 무려 400년이라는 하는 텀이 생겼습니다 무슨 말입니까 ? 구약시대 말라기서 3:1절을 우리 다함께 읽습니다
