Scripture: John 1:4~12 Title : Life is the light of men

4. 그 안에 생명이 있었으니 이 생명은 사람들의 빛이라 
5. 빛이 어두움에 비취되 어두움이 깨닫지 못하더라 
6. 하나님께로서 보내심을 받은 사람이 났으니 이름은 요한이라 
7. 저가 증거하러 왔으니 곧 빛에 대하여 증거하고 모든 사람으로 자기를 인하여 믿게 하려 함이라. 
8. 그는 이 빛이 아니요 이 빛에 대하여 증거하러 온 자라 
9. 참빛 곧 세상에 와서 각 사람에게 비취는 빛이 있었나니 
10. 그가 세상에 계셨으며 세상은 그로 말미암아 지은바 되었으되 세상이 그를 알지 못하였고 
11. 자기 땅에 오매 자기 백성이 영접지 아니하였으나 
12. 영접하는 자 곧 그 이름을 믿는 자들에게는 하나님의 자녀가 되는 권세를 주셨으니 

4. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. 
5. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it. 
6. There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. 
7. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe. 
8. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. 
9. The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world. 
10. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 
11. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 
12. Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God 
4. 生命在他裏头，这生命就是人的光。
5. 光照在黑暗裏，黑暗却不接受光。
6. 有一个人，是从神那裏差來的，名叫约翰。
7. 这人來，为要作见證，就是为光作见證，叫众人因他可以信。
8. 他不是那光，乃是要为光作见證。
9. 那光是真光，照亮一切生在世上的人。
10. 他在世界，世界也是藉著他造的，世界却不认识他。
11. 他到自己的地方來，自己的人倒不接待他。
12. 凡接待他的，就是信他名的人，他就赐他们权柄，作神的儿女。

    유대인들의 오해는 하나님에 대한 오해에서 시작되었습니다.  하나님을 유일신으로 믿고 , 하나님을 본사람은 다 죽는다는 구약성경에 근거해 믿는 사람들에게 “ 태초에 천지를 창조하신 분이 바로 이분이시고 또한  그 하나님을 우리가 손으로 만져보았고  눈으로 본바 되었다” 라고 했을 때
 Jewish people misunderstanding started from misunderstanding God. Trusting God as the one only God, the one that sees God dies as written in the Old testament, when telling people that God was the one who created this world so we can touch and see with our eyes

  구약성경에 기록된 사실을 완전히 무시하는 경향이 되었습니다.  당시 사람들은  예수님에게  “네가 하나님의 아들이냐” 라는 질문에  “ 네가 말하였도다”는 대답을 듣고  우리에게 더 이상 증인이 필요 없다고 해서 예수님을 십자가에 못박아 버렸습니다.
 They totally ignore that reality from the Old testament. In those times they asked Jesus if He was the son of God, and Jesus said What you say is true, and they killed Jesus in the cross saying they don't need any more witnesses.

 당시 사람들의 이러한 생각을 가지고 있는 상황에 요한은  “ 우리가 손으로 만져보고 눈으로 직접 목격한 그분이 바로 하나님의아들 예수 그리스도 이시다.” 라고 소개하고 있는 것입니다.
 During those times, John is introducing Jesus as “we touch Him and saw Him, the son of God Jesus Christ”

 오늘 본문 4절은  예수 그리스도에 대해 보다 구체적으로  설명하고 있습니다 4절입니다
 The verse 4 is explaining Jesus in more detail.

 4. 그 안에 생명이 있었으니 이 생명은 사람들의 빛이라
  “In him was life, and that life was the light of men. ”

  예수 그리스도 안에 생명이 있다고 한 말씀은  그 분은 창조주 이시다 라는 3절의 말씀을 대변하는 것입니다.  예수님은  삼위 하나님으로써 그분은 우리의 생명을 창조하신 분이시다는 것입니다. 
 Verse 4 is explaining verse 3 that God is the creator by saying in verse 4 that life was in Him. That Jesus is also God and He is the one who created our lives.

 그 안에 생명이 있었고  생명의 창조주가 삼위 하나님 중에 성자 예수님이라는 의미는  이세상에 가장 소중한 것 이 생명이라고 할 때 그 생명을 창조하신 창조주 하나님을 경배하며 살아야 한다는 의미입니다.
 That life is in Him and that Jesus is God means that it is very important to live in this world praising God the only creator of our lives.

  모든 것을 다 갖추어도 생명 떠나면 우리는 아무것도 할 수 없습니다.  4절을 다시 보십시오.  4. 그 안에 생명이 있었으니 이 생명은 사람들의 빛이라.
 Even we have everything and we die we cannot do anything. Read verse 4 it says “In him was life, and that life was the light of men. ”

  후반절을 보니까  “ 이생명은 사람들이 빛이라 ”  영어성경에서는  4. “ In him was life, and that life was the light of men ” 이라고 기록했습니다.
 The NIV says “In him was life, and that life was the light of men. ”

 생명이 사람들의 빛이라는 의미는  삼위 하나님중 성자 예수님께서 men 사람을 창조하신 목적이 기록되어 있습니다.    “ 이생명은 사람들이 빛이라 ” 고 했는데  빛의 의미를 헬라 원어 성경을 보니 ,프호스 [빛 , 광명 , 불빛 ]으로 해석을 하는데
 Saying that life is the light of men means that men who is Jesus created us with a purpose. “life was the light of men”, light menas Puhose.

    이 프로스는 어원인 프호네에서 왔습니다  프호네는 비취다 , to shine에서 오게 되었는데  이프로네 [      ] 라는 어원은 소리 목소리 외침 음성으로 해석하기도합니다.
 Puhose comes from Puhone and Puhone means to shine, and it means shout, sound, voice.

 그러니 본문의 “ 이생명은 사람들이 빛이라 ”  빛이라는 의미는 사람들속에 감취어진 하나님의 형상 ,혹은 하나님의 음성을 의미합니다.  하나님께서 사람을 창조하신 창조 목적가운데 한가지는 사람을 통해 하나님의 자기계시를 하는 것을 원하십니다. 사람을 통해 하나님을 느끼고 하나님을 알고 , 하나님을 나타내는데 사용하기를 원하신다는 것입니다.
 Thus “ life was the light of men. ” menas that there is God behind the creation of human and the voice of God is also there. God created men to reflect Himself in us. To feel God through people to know Him through people and to show Him through people.

  하나님은 사람을 통해 하나님의 형상과 모양을 투영하기를 원하십니다.  마태복음 5:16절에는 너희는 세상의 빛과 소금이며  16. 이같이 너희 빛을 사람 앞에 비취게 하여 저희로 너희 착한 행실을 보고 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께 영광을 돌리게 하라고 했습니다.
 God wants to show His shape and how He looks through men. Matthew 5:16 says “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

  결국  사람들 속에 있는 빛은  하나님을 투영하는 투영체로써의 빛이라는 사실을 깨달아야 하는 것입니다.  더욱이  빛이라는 프호네 [        ]의 또다른 의미로 소리 , 목소리 외침 ,음성 이라는 뜻을 가졌다고 할 때  사람들을 통해 하나님의 거룩하심과 선하심과 온전하심을 선포하고 말하며 찬양하며 영광을 돌리는 것입니다.
 Thus, we have light in us which let us show God as a light. Moreover, light which means Puhone also means voice, shout, sound which means that we have to praise God because of His Holiness, goodness and perfection.

  그러므로 저와 여러분 고백 한마디 언어 한마디는 하나님을 나타내고 하나님을 전하고 하나님의 거룩하고 높으신 성호를 찬양하는데 사용되어 야 합니다.
 Thus our one confession can show God and deliver how holy He is and glorify Him.

  5절의 말씀을 보면  “ 5. 빛이 어두움에 비취되 어두움이 깨닫지 못하더라 ” 고 했습니다.  어둠에 있는 사람들은  자신이 어둠에 있다는 사실을 깨닫지 못합니다. 
 Verse 5 says “The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it. ”

  거룩하지 못한 사람은  자신의 현재 상태를 알지 못합니다.  그 이유가 무엇입니까 ?  그 속에 빛이 없으니까 ?  빛이 있어야  ‘아 내가 어둡구나 “ 하는 것을 깨닫고 , 알 수 있습니다.
 Those who are holy cannot realize their situation. What is the reason? because they don't have light in them? They can only realize that they are in darkness when there is light.

  거룩하신 빛되신 그리스도 예수님이 우리 가운데 계셔야  내가 거룩하지 못하구나 하는 기준을 세울 수 있고 ,  그 빛에 가까이 가려고 한다는 것 입니다. 
 Holy Jesus Christ who is light should be in us to know if I am holy so we need to try to be near the light.

  요한은 6절에  어둠에 있는 사람들에게 , 이미 하나님은 빛이시고 그 빛이 우리속에 있음에도 불구하고 어둠 가운데 헤메고 있으니까 안타까운 심정으로 6절에 이렇게 말합니다.  “ 6. 하나님께로서 보내심을 받은 사람이 났으니 이름은 요한이라 ”
 John is also saying to the people in darkness in verse 6 that God is already the light and He is in us but because we are in the darkness we cannot see Him. verse 6 says “There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John.”

  요한은  빛으로 오신 예수 그리스도를  소개하는 이유에 대해 자신의 역할을 말합니다.  요한은 자신의 현재 포지션을 사명적 존재로 소개하고 있습니다.
 John is introducin Jesus Crhist who came as a light. John has a calling a position like that.

  요한이 자신의 사명이 무엇이다 라고 할 수 있었던 분명한  기준이 무엇입니까 ?  그것은  바로 하나님의 뜻을 깨닫는 것입니다.  하나님의 뜻을 어떻게 깨달을 수 있습니까 ?
 What was the reason why John could talk about his calling? That was because he realized God’s will. How did he realize?

  누가복음 1:15
  이는 그가 주 앞에 큰 자가 되며 포도주나 독한 술을 마시지 아니하며 모태로부터 성령의 충만함을 받아  아멘
 In Luke 1:15 says “for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine or other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even before he is born.”

  요한은 모태에서부터 성령이 충만한자라고 했습니다.  모태에서 성령이 충만하다는 것은  요한 혼자서 가능한 일입니까 ?    아닙니다.  우리는 여기서 우리의 신앙생활이 자녀에게 미치는 중요한 영향력을 생각할 수 있습니다.
 It says that John was filled with the Holy Spirit even before he was born. It is something possible on his own? No. Here we can know the importance of our Christian life that effects our children.

  요한의 부모님은 엘리사벳과 사가랴입니다.
 John’s parents are Elizabeth and Zechariah.

눅1:5~6절을 보십시오. See Luke 1:5~6


5. ○유대 왕 헤롯 때에 아비야 반열에 제사장 한 사람이 있었으니 이름은 사가랴요 그의 아내는 아론의 자손이니 이름은 엘리사벳이라
6. 이 두 사람이 하나님 앞에 의인이니 주의 모든 계명과 규례대로 흠이 없이 행하더라 아멘
5. In the time of Herod king of Judea there was a priest named Zechariah, who belonged to the priestly division of Abijah; his wife Elizabeth was also a descendant of Aaron. 
6. Both of them were upright in the sight of God, observing all the Lord's commandments and regulations blamelessly. 
5. 当犹太王希律的时候，亚比雅班裏有一个祭司，名叫撒迦利亚；他妻子是亚伦的後人，名叫以利沙伯。
6. 他们二人在神面前都是义人，遵行主的一切诫命礼仪，没有可指摘的，
 


 아멘 Amen.

  요한이 모태에서부터 성령이 충만했던 이유는 그 아버지와 어머니가 하나님 앞에서 의인 이었기에 가능했던 것입니다.  그렇다면 오늘 저와 여러분들이 성령의 충만하다면  여러분들의 자녀들은 전이적으로 성령충만 받을수 있고  나아가 성령이 충만하다는 의미는  요한이 하나님의 뜻을 깨닫고 자신이 무엇을 해야 하는지에 대한 분명한 현실을 깨닫은 것처럼  저와 여러분들도  이렇게 살 수 있다는 것입니다.
 The reason why John could be filled with the Holy Spirit even before he was born was because his parents were upright in the sight of God. Now, if we are filled with the HOly Spirit our children will also be filled with the Holy Spirit automatically. This means that if we realize God’s will and what we should do we will also be able to like them.

 8절을 보십시오.  요한은 당시 자신이 무엇을 위해 살아야 하는지 분명한 자신의 존재 , 자신에게 맡긴 사명을 알고 있었던 것입니다.  함께 읽습니다
Let’s look at verse 8. John knows perfectly what is his calling, why he exists and what God wants him to do. Let’s read together.


8. 그는 이 빛이 아니요 이 빛에 대하여 증거하러 온 자라 
8. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. 
8. 他不是那光，乃是要为光作见證。


 
  아멘 Amen.
요한은 자신의 역할이 무슨 역할을 해야하는지 분명 알고 있었습니다.  요한은 자신이 빛이 아니라고 말합니다.  그리고 자신은 빛을 증거하러 온자라고 했습니다. 
 John clearly knew what was his role. John says that he is not the light but he only came as a witness to the light.

  1946년 12월 7일 아침 미국 아틀란타 시의 소재해 있는 위네코프 호텔에서 대형화재가 일어났습니다.  당시 호텔에는 총 304명이 투숙해 있었고 그가운데 119명이 사망했고 65명은 불길을 헤쳐나오다 화상과 크고작은  부상을 입었습니다.
 In December 7th in 1946, a big fire was occassioned in Winecoff Hotel in Atlanta USA. 304 people were staying in that hotel and 119 people died, 65 were injured.

  사망자 가운데는 뜨거운 불길을  견디지 못해 층을 막론하고 창밖으로뛰어 내렸기 때문입니다.  화재가 나자 불길 속에서 살기위해 뛰어 내린 사람들은 고압전선에 걸려 감전사고를 입기도하고  도로에 추락해 죽은 경우도 허다했습니다.  또한 어떤 이는 나뭇가지에 떨어지면서  온몸을 이리 저리 찔리며  죽음면할 수가 없었습니다.
 Some people died because they jumped to the floor from the windows. Some people died because they jumped to the floor but they were caught in a electric wire and got electric shock, some just died because they directly fell in the street. Others fell in the trees so they died.

사랑하는 성도 여러분, 호텔에 투숙했던 수많은 투숙객들은  호텔에서 뛰어내리면 죽은줄 알면서도 뛰어 내렸을까요.  그것은 그들을 향해 다가오는  불길이 너무 뜨거웠기 때문입니다.
 Beloved people, those people who stayed in the hotel did know that they are going to die even they jump to the floor but why did they? Because the fire was so hot.

  여러분 !!  오늘  지옥의 불은 위네코프 호텔의 불과는 비교할 수도 없습니다  그렇습니다 지옥에는 뛰어내릴 창문도 없습니다.  불길을 피할 수도 없습니다.    예수님을  믿지 않는 영혼은 모두 다 불 심판을 받아야 합니다그래서 전도가 중요합니다.    전도가 중요한 것은 바로 이러한 영혼들이 처한 위험성 때문입니다. 그렇기 때문에 우리는 만나는 사람마다 전도해야 합니다.
 People, you cannot imagine how hot is the fire in the hell to the fire that killed people in that Winecof Hotel. In hell there is no way to avoid fire. Those who don't trust in Jesus have to be sentenced with fire. This is why delivering the Gospel is important. It is important because of the they will run into danger. This is why we have to deliver the Gospel. 

  미국 새들백교회 담임인 릭웨렌은 “목적이 이끄는 삶”저자이기도 합니다. 릭 웨렌 목사가 저술한 “목적이 이끄는 삶”이 전세계 교회에 유명세를 남긴 것은 그의 아버지의 유언 때문입니다.
 USA Saddlebag Church pastor Rick Werren who wrote ‘Purpose driven life’ could be very famous because of Warren father’s last will.

  그의 부친은 2년 정도의 암 투병하다가 사망을했습니다. 그런데 그 아버지  는 임종 일주일전 암의 고통으로 인해 정신이 혼미해지고, 안절부절 못하시며 자꾸 일어나려 하셨습니다.  릭웨렌 목사는 그때 아버지의 임종을 곁에서 지키며 “아버지, 마지막으로 무엇을 하고 싶으세요?” 하고 질문합니다.
 His father suffered for cancer over 2 years and died. But when he was alive he was suffering so much that he always wanted to get up. Pastor Warren asked his father a last question before he died “Father, what do you want to do for the last time?”

  릭웨렌 목사의 아버지는 가쁜 숨을 몰아쉬며 아들에게 이런 말을 반복합니다. “ 아들아! 한 영혼이라도 더 복음을 전해야한다.  예수님을 위해서 한 사람이라도 더 구원시켜야 해!” 릭웨렌의  부친은 한 시간 동안 이 말을 무려  150번 이상  반복합니다.
 And his father said to his son “Son. deliver the Gospel to more people. For Jesus you have to do it!” His father repeated this more than 150 times before he died.

    그리고 임종을 했습니다.  아버지의 간절한 부탁으로 릭웨렌 목사의 인생목표는 달라졌습니다.  한 영혼이라도 더 전도하고 한사람이라도 더 주님께 인도하기 위해 안간힘을 써야 했습니다.
  After his father died pastor Warren’s purpose toally changed. He tried to deliver the Gospel to save the life of one single more life.
 
  오늘 본문의 요한은 자신을 칭해 “  빛에 대하여 증거하러 온 자라” 라고 분명히 밝히고 있습니다.    하나님께서는 저와 여러분들이 이땅에 탄생한 탄생의 목적을 밝힐 때  ‘우연발생적’ 혹은 ‘자연생산적’으로 탄생한 사람은 한 사람도 없다고 했습니다.
 Through the book of John, he says that the is the witness of the light. God said that there is no one who was born by accident or by chance.

  이말은 이땅에 탄생한 모든 생명체는 하나님의 창조섭리에 의해 태어났고 그보다 더 선행적으로  모든 사람은 하나님의 백성이라는 것입니다.  저와 여러분들을 창조하신 분은 하나님이신 것입니다.
 Which means that all of us were born in this world with a purpose living as son and daughters of God. We are all the creation of God.

  그리고 그 백성은  하나님의 주권적 섭리 안에서 사는 것입니다.  나아가 그백성들에게는 각기 주어진  탄생 목적이 있습니다.  하나님의 관심은 어디에 있을까요 ?  자기 백성이 성도들에게 있습니다.
 And us the people of God are living in the sovereigning of God. And all of us has our own purpose in life. Where is the interest of God? It is on us.

 오늘 본문 11절을 보니까 ? 자기 땅 , 자기백성이라고 했습니다.  다함께 읽습니다   
In verse 11 it says his own. Let’s read together.


11. 자기 땅에 오매 자기 백성이 영접지 아니하였으나 
11. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 
11. 他到自己的地方來，自己的人倒不接待他。

자기의 땅이라고 했습니다.  그리고 자기의 백성이라고 했습니다.
그러므로 저와 여러분들은 하나님이 백성입니다.  하나님의 자녀입니다.
It says his own, his own people. We are the people the own of God. We are the sons and daugthers of God.

할렐루야! 
Hallelujah!

  요한은 7절에  빛되신 예수 그리스도를 알았고 그 예수 그리스도를 믿어야 한다고 오늘의 키워드를 말하는 것입니다.  7절을 함께 읽습니다.
 In verse 7 John is saying the keyword, that he knew Jeuss and we have to trust in Jesus. Let’s read verse 7 all together.


7. 저가 증거하러 왔으니 곧 빛에 대하여 증거하고 모든 사람으로 자기를 인하여 믿게 하려 함이라
7. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe. 
7. 这人來，为要作见證，就是为光作见證，叫众人因他可以信。


 
아멘 . 사랑하는 여러분!
Amen. Beloved lovers.

저와 여러분들은 누구입니까 ?  저와 여러분들은  하늘백성이요 하나님의 자녀입니다.  이세상을 창조하신 창조주 하나님의 자녀입니다.  하나님의 백성은 하나님을 경배하며 그분께 찬양하며 영광을 돌리며 사는 것이 삶의 본질인 것입니다.
Who are we? We are God’s people and God’s daugthers and sons. We are the sons and daugthers of the almighty creator of this world God. Our purpose in life is to praise God and glorify Him.

 저와 여러분들에게 이러한 은혜가 충만하시기를 주님의 이름으로 축원드립니다.
 I hope for all of you to experience sufficiently the grace of God in the name of Jesus.
